Sample poem:

NOTHING LASTS FOREVER

The line drawn
was a crack in the sidewalk
caused by an earthquake
9.0 on the richter scale
some blamed it on God
others on a pact with the devil
no matter the reason
it leveled homes buildings
all the same

The thought was a seed
planted in the grey matter of my brain
emotions desires all slaves
a weight carried
I'll take to my grave

Waiting for the invisible to become seen
in still moments when the mind is quiet bad habits are broken
like black feathers in the street once belonging to blue skies

Nothing last forever
